Jayln Thedford

Jayln Thedford is an artist from Beacon, NY. Jayln’s work investigates the black figure and its representation in art history. “I feel people of color are underrepresented in the art world. For decades, black artists haven't been presented in the same way their white counterparts have, especially black women. My paintings focus on the relationship between the black figure and constellations of felt experience. This feeling influences me in the art I create, specifically in focusing on provoking the feeling of harmony, ethereal peace, and equality through the black narrative.”
